The Institute for the Prevention of In-Custody Deaths (IPICD) will replace its 2026 in-person conference with PULSE: Public Safety Innovation Forum, a virtual event scheduled for November 10, 12, 17, and 19, 2026.
Conducted via Zoom from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time, the forum will consist of four separate four hour sessions addressing current issues affecting law enforcement training, operations and supervision. The virtual format allows agencies to participate without the travel, hotel and per diem expenses normally associated with an in-person conference. Individual sessions may be attended separately.
Topics will include emerging public safety technologies, restraint practices and human performance research, legal developments, and advances in human factors science. The program will also examine a restraint system intended to reduce the need for prone positioning.
Presenters will include public safety practitioners, attorneys, researchers, and other subject matter specialists. Each session will also feature a demonstration of a new public safety product.
Attendees will receive access through the end of 2026 to IPICD’s AI-powered Public Safety Lesson Plan Generator.Program information and registration are available at ipicd.com
