As a result of the continued effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, officials from the state of New Jersey have cancelled August 2020 events scheduled at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
The New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police and Police Security Expo Management (Sitework Associates, Inc.) have been informed by the New Jersey Department of Emergency Management that the State of New Jersey has exercised their option to continue to use the Atlantic City Convention Center as a field hospital in August 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This action supersedes the lease which the 34th Annual Police Security Expo 2020 has in place with the Atlantic City Convention Center.
While New Jersey has made great progress in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic over the past few months, there are still significant restrictions in place. Relevant authorities cannot give approval for large-scale indoor events, resulting in the cancellation of Police Security Expo 2020.
It has been decided that August events scheduled in the Atlantic City Convention Center have been cancelled. Recognizing that the health and safety of attendees, exhibitors, instructors, and staff continue to be our top concerns, and based on information from multiple sources on current and projected factors related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (Police Security Expo host) has decided it would be impractical to postpone the Police
Security Expo to another date in 2020. The factors considered reflect reduced travel options, aversion to large crowds, lower registration numbers to date, and the loss of sponsorship of social networking events which the Police Security Expo has traditionally enjoyed.
This decision was not made lightly as we have strived and worked extremely hard to conduct our 34th consecutive Police Security Expo within the necessary limitations created by the current conditions. The New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police has already leased the same Hall D and Flex for June 29 & 30, 2021, in the Atlantic City Convention Center and encourage your participation.
