Swatting Awareness for Law Enforcement

In collaboration with the FBI, the FPS, the Major County Sheriffs of America, and numerous state and local law enforcement partners, the Office for State and Local Law Enforcement (OSLLE) has developed a series of swatting awareness videos specifically for law enforcement.

Swatting is a dangerous and malicious act in which individuals place false emergency calls to police or emergency services, falsely reporting an active, severe crisis at a specific location. These incidents are increasingly straining emergency services and helplines, as they are designed to provoke an overwhelming law enforcement response.

This video series aims to raise awareness about the growing threat of swatting and to provide practical strategies and resources for addressing it. The first video in the series is now available to law enforcement agencies through OSLLE, with additional videos to be released upon completion. Interested law enforcement personnel are encouraged to contact OSLLE via E-mail for access at OSLLE@hq.dhs.gov
