P&SN Welcomes Its 40th Year

Police and Security News (P&SN), the predominant magazine serving both law enforcement and Homeland Security, is celebrating its 40th anniversary, as part of the 2024 Buyer’s Information Guide (March/April).

P&SN made its debut in late 1984, released alongside its two sister publications – Firefighter’s News and Rescue News. First published by Brewer Communications, Inc. from its offices in Barnegat, NJ, the inaugural edition included feature articles covering such topics as video surveillance, administering first aid, effective personnel utilization, as well as new products available to the law enforcement community.

Police and Security News has adopted a number of format upgrades over the past four decades, including a shift from tabloid size to a standard magazine size configuration, as well as a number of logo redesigns.

Publisher Al Menear commented, “It’s truly remarkable to witness the sustained growth of a magazine brand in this industry for 40 years. Reflecting on the individuals and companies which have influenced the law enforcement sector during this time has been a gratifying experience.”
